Franklin Learning Activity Group (FLAG) : Will be meeting Wednesday, April 3rd, and April 17th at 11:00am

~ April 3rd will be Art and Drawing Instruction With Ms. Leslie and April 17th we will be wrapping up the year with Music and a potluck! :) (franklinlearningactivitygroup.yolasite.com)

American Girls Club: Will be meeting on Saturday, April 20th, at 10:00am

~ This will be the last American Girl Club meeting until fall, so of course we will be having a party!!! And the girls will be celebrating a real life American Girl, Themselves! There will be light refreshments, a movie and we will play some games. We hope to see you and your daughters there! :) 

Family Movie Night: Tuesday, April 16th, 5:30-7:30pm

~Please join us at Besore Library for a movie night where your family will be sure to have lots of fun!! We are going to show Cars 2!! Light refreshments will be provided! Please Sign up in advance! :) 

Parent Literacy Class: Thursday, April 4th, at 10:00 am

~We will be ending with fun ideas that you can do with your child at home this spring and summer!! :)

Read to the Dogs: Thursday, April 18th, 6:30PM&7:00PM

(Please sign up in advance) and Join us for a fun night of reading and you'll get to meet some of the kindly canines unit. :) They are trained therapy dogs who love to be read too. :) 

Henny Penny: Thursday, April 18th, 1:00 pm 

~The Friends of the Besore Library will be presenting a puppet show! Telling the story of the courageous Henny Penny! :) All ages are welcome no sign-up necessary!!

April will be our last full month of activities until summer time, when summer reading programs begin and lots of fun will be had for all involved!!! :) 

We will however be having a special guest visit our library named Floyd Stokes!! Otherwise known as the SUPER READER!!! :) He will be visiting on May 30th at 6 pm!!! We hope to see you and your family here for our special event!!

Teddy Bear Sleepover at Besore Library!!

 

Teddy Bear Sleepover!! - Friday, March 1st till Saturday, March 2nd we will be having a Teddy Bear Sleepover to celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday and Read Across America Day. Children are invited to bring in a teddy bear or any of their favorite character toys (I.E. Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Spiderman, Barbie, LEGO Creation, Or Doll) Between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on Friday, March 1st to spend the night in the library. Then children can come back at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning to pick-up their favorite toy, and watch a powerpoint of what happened during their toy's stay at the library and then, of course, have a light breakfast including Green Eggs and Ham, Blueberry Bumplings, and A surprise Thing1&Thing2 desert! Franklin Learning Activity Group - (FLAG) - will be meeting on Wednesday Feb. 20th at 11:00am, Each child will do a book study of a president of their choice and give a short presentation about their president.
 
American Girls Club - Will be meeting on Saturday, Feb. 16th at 10:00am.  Family Bingo Night - Will be on Tuesday, Feb. 19th, at 5:30-7:30pm.

This Weeks Event!!! :)

Hello Everybody!!! We at Besore just wanted to remind you of this weeks upcoming events here at our library!! :) We have our Kindly Canines Program this thursday one meeting is at 6:30-7:00pm and the next meeting is 7:00pm to 7:30pm! Call in to sign up in advance for this wonderful program where you and your children get a chance to sit and read to one of the wonderful therapy dogs that the Kindly Canines group brings in to visit us. :) Its a wonderful way to expand your child's love of reading and to see some very nice dogs. :) We will also be having the American Girl Club Meeting this Saturday at 10am :) We will be discussing Addy, we hope to see you and your daughters there! :) If you would like to sign up for this event please drop in or call in to us here at the Besore Library! :)

Book Club Announcement!

A Book Club for You!

Greencastle, PA:  Looking for a night out with a friendly, interesting group?  Well, they are looking for you. The Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library Book Club, founded in 1999, is always open to all men and women who enjoy reading and sharing their ideas. :)

The Besore Book Club meets the second Tuesday of every month, with 10 to 13 regular participants. Diverse books are discussed. The club likes to think that “no genre should be left ‘unturned’ ”.

No registration is required. Just show up. The  meeting begins at 6:30 pm and ends at 7:45 pm. The next meeting will be held on February 12, featuring the book How the Irish Saved Civilization by Thomas Cahill. Don’t miss out on this fascinating discussion of how the Irish preserved and shaped both knowledge and culture in the shadows of the Dark Ages. :)

Book Club Rescheduled

There was some minor confusion about the date of the Besore Library Book Club meeting it will be scheduled on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, which changes the date that was previously set from the 15th to January 8th from 6:30pm to 7:45 pm. New members are always welcome! :) The book for the month of January will be "A Wrinkle in Time", by Madeleine L'Engle. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.
